"Some sort of issue" is FOREVER CHEMICALS! Short for "per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances," PFAS are a class of thousands of man-made chemicals that have been around since the 1940s. And as the nickname suggests, "forever chemicals" are here for a long time. They don't break down, which has led to widespread contamination.

The leadership represents the community. There are not enough dreamers in our community to think long term and how we can make this community better. People are OK with the fact that we have minimal sewers, few bike lanes and sidewalks, limited recreational facilities and parks, just to name a few. I have been fortunate to live and/or visit other communities that have all these things. The majority of people in NK do not want to invest in this town. If they do, it's at the expense of our natural resources, all to make a buck. I've been living here some 10+years and I have seen some decent, unselfish people who cared about this town, voted off the TC. Look at all the empty shops in town, including the old library. Little is done to encourage entrepreneurs to invest in this town. If we can get folks to look beyond their own self interests, we can move ahead. Until then, we'll have to live with the status quo.
