With a 2nd Term:
Continue to listen to, and respond to, the people! (I would like to be part of a town council that does, without having to be asked).
Be involved. Show up. Help.
Continue to bring transparency.
Protect the water!
Work again on an elderly tax freeze, without adding more tax burden to others.
Stop ALL Sludge (etc), and enforce the ordinances, and charter.
Revisit the Rt 4 lights and work with others to find a solution.
I WILL (either way) continue to work with the Post Rd Business Alliance to make the Post Rd a beautiful and prosperous tree lined drive that makes North Kingstown proud, including creating ordinances that make it easier to enforce bringing everyone up to code. No more derelict businesses dragging the rest down; depreciating.
With a majority; change some of the things that have been put in place for personal benefit, make it harder to stack committees to push overdevelopment; get people involved again, like they used to be.
Plant more trees!! 🌳
Continued transparency.
No more (QCC) "Rules or thee, but not for me".
Make "The People's House" THE PEOPLE'S House again, no more "Wrap it Up".
Be available. Show up. Listen.
Make North Kingstown the awesome town we ll know it can be...all of it!

*I voted no on the budget: on the school budget, and then on the town budget as a whole bc of the school budget. The NKSD has a ten million dollar surplus, why do they need another 5% for 2026? That is tax payer money. The NKSD gets more than 60% of the entire town budget. Watch some of the older Buiding Sub Committee meetings to see how things are going (*not well, and taxes are going up 11% in 2027). Megan's reasons are a perfect illustration:
*I voted no against giving the Quidnessett Country Club a fireworks permit. Tom Sgouros summed up my reasoning perfectly.

Here is the vote, 4 yes because even with an illegal seawall, QCC is still in "good standing' with the town (with four). Ironically, Matthew McCoy points out that QCC in the past has asked for their fireworks permits AFTER the fact. They do what they want, they "FLOUT" the rules that the rest of the town manages to abide by. Maybe not a member, but we already know that President Mancini plays golf there, has previously recused himself on QCC business. Does the town manager play there too?
*If I'd realized that I needed to get even a second for this, never mind a majority vote, I would never have wasted the time. Classic Lockstep 4 move. Vote IS rescinded, and I went out of my way to help people understand what was happening with Good Energy, which incidentally, ended up being more expensive.

Voted against a fireworks permit for Quid CC (illegal seawall=NOT in good standing with the town).

Voted against switching the town to Good Energy (without residents' knowledge or consent).

Pushed Parades Committee to ask for more necessary money.

Voted to preserve 2A rights in North Kingstown (not take gun rights away from law abiding citizens).

Attempted vote for Resolution to protect NK town zoning against state overreach.

Voted twice against town budget because of excessive school surplus.

This is why I ran for for Town Council...

Dear North Kingstown Voters,
I would like to be able to retire in the house that I designed (on graph paper) and built 23 yrs ago, that my husband did all the finish work on; the decks, our built in beds, the cupboards...all handmade custom woodwork. I'd like to retire with the 3 barns he built, the aviary, chicken coop and sheds that he built, all with our four hands, with all of the many, many, MAAAAAANY trees and hundreds of perennials and shrubs, and raised gardens (that he built), and rock gardens, and butterfly gardens, the 'Perennial Flower Shower Garden' full of plants that my friends brought for my wedding shower (this month, 22 years ago). I'd like to continue to admire the 'Davey Tree' (a memorial Star Magnolia, planted for my friend Dave who died of Leukemia at 40 when I was building this house), and the Placenta Tree from my son's birth. I would like to retire overseeing the graves of the two greatest heart horses of my life (among others), all my dogs, my cats, with Hammy The Happy Hamster from Hamsterdam, Chubba, Twibby, Mr Puny, Stinker, and many many others. I would like to retire in the house where my son was born twenty one years ago this month. I imagine the house transferring to him one day, and I hope for twins running through it. I imagine them w their friends on the same 'Tucker's Haunted Trail of Terror', the shreeeeaks of delightful fright as they run through the 7 acres that have been in my family, bought by my parents from their good friends, the Squibbs, in 1978. I would like to retire on the land that both of my deceased parents once walked on, hoping that THEY would retire on it. I have put more blood, sweat, and tears into this property than anything else in 60 years. I WANT TO KEEP MY HOUSE AND LAND AND ANIMALS AND TREES AND MEMORIES!
PLEASE get out and VOTE !!

There are many of us who have built 'empires' in NK, for decades, who want to retire in/on our hard work, memories, and lives well lived! I want to see the height lines on my bathroom door...until I can no longer PHYSICALLY live here anymore.
This dream is slipping away from me, we must reign in this Town Council! I dont want to pay more and more and more taxes for some pet project (and personal profit?) that literally has no building site yet, no solid building plans yet, and has not even gotten 4 of the 5 stages of approval needed to receive the incentives! Yes, we need a new and improved Safety Complex, everybody wants that, but not like this!! When is enough ENOUGH? Hopefully it's before we all get taxed right out of our homes. Or will it be after we give them hundreds of millions of our tax dollars to do w as they please.

I AM BEGGING YOU TO GET INVOLVED, GET INFORMED, AND GET OUT TO VOTE!!!
