SAVE NORTH KINGSTOWN

Hi, my name is Holly Quinn and I am running for a seat on the North Kingstown School Committee. I was born and raised here, attended North Kingstown public schools, and later sent my own children through the same school system.

For most of my life, I honestly didn't pay much attention to the School Committee. That changed about seven years ago when my family faced a difficult situation at school that opened my eyes to how challenging the system could be to navigate. I started paying attention, asking questions, attending meetings and speaking up. The more involved I became, the more concerns I had, not only about individual issues but about policies, transparency, budgets and the way decisions were made.

Over the years, I've spoken at several School Committee and Town Council meetings, sent countless emails and asked A LOT of questions. More than a few people have said to me, "If you feel this strongly about it, why don't you run?" Well... here I am.

I'm running because I believe North Kingstown deserves a School Committee that works together, even when members disagree. I want decisions made openly, taxpayer dollars treated with the care they deserve, questions answered, and residents to understand how and why decisions are being made.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, and I won't always agree with everyone else. But I will listen, I will work with people who see things differently than I do, and I will always be honest about where I stand. Most importantly, I'll do my best to make decisions based on something pretty simple. What is fair, what is right, and what is best for our schools and our community.
